BlueGrid Land Solutions wants this website to be usable by everyone who needs land work done, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or reduced motion switched on.
What we are aiming for
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as the standard we build toward. That is a target we work against, not a certification.
This site has not been formally audited by an independent accessibility assessor, and we do not claim it fully conforms. What follows is an honest account of where it stands.
What has been built in
These are things the site actually does today, not intentions:
- A skip link at the top of every page that jumps straight to the main content.
- A single, ordered heading structure on every page — one page title, no skipped heading levels — so a screen reader can navigate by headings.
- Keyboard operation throughout: the navigation menus, the mobile drawer, and the estimate request can all be reached and completed without a mouse.
- Visible focus indicators so the keyboard position is never a guess.
- Reduced motion is respected. If your device is set to reduce motion, the animated reveals, the hero sequence and the card transitions all stop.
- Text alternatives on images that carry meaning, and deliberately empty ones on images that are purely decorative, so they are skipped rather than announced.
- Labelled form fields, with validation messages tied to the field they belong to so they are announced rather than only shown.
- Touch targets sized for fingers — the mobile call and estimate buttons are at least 44 pixels tall.
- Colour contrast reviewed against the AA threshold for body text, headings and links, and corrected where it fell short.
- Images carry their dimensions, so the page does not jump under you as it loads.
What we know is still outstanding
Being straight about the gaps is more useful than claiming there are none:
- The site has not been tested with actual assistive technology by someone who uses it daily. Automated and manual checks are not the same thing as that.
- No independent accessibility audit has been carried out.
- If you accept analytics, one of the tools records anonymised session replays. You can decline it, or turn it off later, from the Cookie Settings control in the footer of any page — see the Cookie Policy.
- A small number of images are loaded from a third-party photo library rather than from our own site, and we do not control how those are delivered.
This is ongoing
Accessibility gets looked at as part of every change to this site, not as a one-off pass. Where a problem is found it gets fixed in the normal course of work, and the list above is updated to match.
If something on this site blocks you
Please tell us — it is the fastest way for it to get fixed, and you will reach the owner rather than a support queue.
Email bluegridls@gmail.com or call (740) 464-2526. It helps if you can say which page you were on and what you were trying to do, but tell us either way.
If the website is what is standing between you and an estimate, call and we will simply take the details over the phone. You should never have to fight a web form to get work quoted.
